MI is an international NGO dedicated to ensuring that the world's most vulnerable people get the vitamins and minerals they need to survive and thrive. Our vision is of a world free of hidden hunger. We seek to develop, implement and monitor innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solutions for hidden hunger, in partnership with others. We recently moved our regional office for Africa to Dakar and now seek to make two regional appointments to help us achieve our goals.
1. Regional Resource Development and Communications Manager, Africa
In liaison with the Regional Director, Africa, and the Resource Development and Partnerships Unit in MI Ottawa, and in line with MI’s strategic plan, this post will provide operational support and advice to National Program Managers based in four countries in Africa to increase MI’s effectiveness in securing new funding to expand its activities. The post will also ensure consistent and effective communications in the region both internally and externally. Key attributes for the post include:
- Degree in relevant area such as communications, management, and marketing
- Excellent proposal writing, communication and inter-personal skills
- At least 5 years relevant experience e.g. new business development, project management, media, and in working with an international development organization.
2. Regional Finance Officer, Africa
In liaison with National Program Managers and supported by the Regional Finance Manager, ensure efficient delivery of financial services within the Africa Region. Key attributes for the post include:
- Brevet de Technicien Supérieur, or equivalent, plus an accounting or financing qualification
- Accounting experience of 5-8 years including working in an international organization
- Good communication skills, competent IT user, Great Plains will be an advantage
The regional aspect of both posts requires fluent English. There is no point in applying if you do not have fluent English as well as French.
